Alpharetta, GA – It tells the story of a family that is torn apart by betrayal and abandonment and infidelity living in a small Louisiana town during the 1960s. The film, which is based on the bestselling novel Sweet Lavender by author and Executive Producer Terry a O’Neal, has been described as an “influential classic story”—a cross between August Wilson’s “Fences” and Langston Hughes’ “Not Without Laughter.”

Alpharetta teen actress and singer Camryn Levert who has been cast as lead character Rae Lynne in the film can relate all too well of the young girl’s experience growing up without her father.

15-year-old Camryn is the youngest daughter of the late R&B Grammy Award Winning singer Gerald Levert, who passed away on November 10, 2006, when Camryn was only 8-years-old.

Along the Dirt Road is set in Louisiana, where filming is expected to begin in March 2014. Camryn says that she is thrilled to be given the opportunity to star in this classic film and share her talent with the world.
