Local Author Joins Docuseries TV Show on ABC Network
FEB 1, 2021—HAMPTON, VA—Author, poet, and screenwriter, Terry a O’Neal, best known for her award-winning novel, “Sweet Lavender”, recently joined the documentary series TV show “Home Sweet Home Hampton Roads” (HSHHR) as new staff writer for season two.
O’Neal, who is best known for her award-winning family fiction novel, Sweet Lavender, has been a published writer for over 20 years, and was named among the most popular African American female writers of our time in a book entitled “Literary Divas: The Top 100+ Most Admired African-American Women in Literature”-a list of women who’ve left a mark on the wider world through their writing.
When show producers Kurt D. Hogan and Wesley K. Jones presented her with the opportunity to be a staff writer for season two of Home Sweet Home Hampton Roads, O’Neal jumped on the opportunity.
O’Neal moved to Hampton in June 2020, amid the pandemic. The California native said she needed a drastic change, and believed that Virginia–with all its rich history–would be the inspiration she needed to hammer out her next bestseller. “It is my fondness for southern life, history, and culture that inspire me. Hampton is the perfect atmosphere for writers.”
Home Sweet Home Hampton Roads airs on ABC/CH 13 (WVEC) every Sunday morning at 9 AM EST, right after Good Morning America.
